About Coach Mercer
Coach Christopher Mercer Sr, Founder and CEO of Coach Mercer LLC has more than 15 years of experience working with youth in varying settings such as public/private schools, Residential treatment facilities for foster and probation kids, and sports venues as a performance coach. Coach Mercer over the years has provided special education services and academic support to public school students as well as providing speed and agility training, nutritional education, and team-sport performance.
Coach Mercer is a former D1-2A college football player and a former student at Prairie View A&M University. While studying Criminal Justice at PVAMU my passion for working with at-risk children grew deeper. Coach Mercer holds the following certifications: Special Education EC-12, Physical Education EC-12, Health EC-12, High School Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Athletes Acceleration for Speed and Agility, Level 1 Functional Movement Screen, Personal training, and weight management from the International Youth Conditioning Association.
A strong understanding of coaching students on how to develop social-emotional skills that will increase their level of success academically and socially has promoted the Coach Mercer (academics, Life skills, wellness) program, established in 2021. Coach Mercer and his team of coaches have developed an effective program that uses fitness and sports to cultivate the learning of SEL skills.
Coach Mercer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Arts in Educational Counseling.
